My boyfriend of 7 years, finally decided to wife me up! Yes, FINALLY! I was waiting for this day and I was surprised.

It was on Thanksgiving November 25th… I was thinking it would be just a normal dinner with the family when all of a sudden David’s mom decides to stop by. Many would think that I would have known that he was going to propose to me since his mother never comes to my house. But I actually had no clue whatsoever. My mom and his mom began to joke around about David being afraid of marriage and I looked over at David and he walked to a corner. I joked about how David was “hiding in the corner”. And next thing you know, he comes over to the dinner table with a black gift back. I didn’t know what to think… He then pulls out a bottle of tequila (which in my family, its a tradition to give a bottle of tequila to the father of the bride and ask him for my hand in marriage) I then began to say “You gotta be kidding me! This isn’t happening” I look at him as he is approaching my dad with the bottle and he politely asks him if he will allow him to take his daughters hand in marriage. My dad replies with a smile, and says yes. He walks over to me, while I’m bawling in tears of joy, and grabs my hand. I can feel him shaking. He pulls me over to him and proceeds to tell me that he loves me so much and that he would love to have me as his wife. He then asked me those magical words that I have been waiting for … “Would you marry me?” With no hesitation, I nodded my head and said yes. I hugged him and kissed him with every love and affection that I had. As we looked into each others eyes, we both knew that we were meant for each other. This is now the biginning of a new phase of our lives. I cannot wait to share the new moments with my soon to be husband.

The meaning of a 'friend'.

What does it mean to be a friend? I have always asked myself this question. Who do I consider a friend in my life? Well, needless to say. I have very little… It’s not that I am shy or unsocial. I am actually, which I believe, the opposite of that. I have a lot “friends” but which ones are real TRUE friends? eh, well that’s a hard question. I probably have a handful of REAL friends. No need to name names, but you know who you are. Just remember, if I tell you that I care for you, I really mean it. Remember, I am here to be a TRUE friend as well.

My definition of a true friend : A person who is always available. Call them at 2am and they will answer no matter what. Someone who is loyal and is willing to hear everything you have to say to them. Non judgmental and brutally honest. NEVER changes the person you fell in love with. And most importantly, will always be there for you from day one.

Technology and Kids

Ever wonder to yourselves and think about how quickly technology has taken over our lives? I can’t imagine how my day would be without my blackberry for a day or not be able to go online, to say the least.

Ever wonder how kids will be affected by technology and how their lives are going to be completely different then how we grew up. To me, it is mind boggling. I see my 12 year old cousins who have a Myspace page or a Facebook page with pictures that I wish I would have never seen. But hey, I will not blame anyone else but the people who are educating them about the internet. Kids need to be educated on the fact that everything they post on the internet will ALWAYS be somewhere in cyberspace. If kids are well educated on this fact, I believe that they can make the right choices about what they want to put out there.

Now my question to everyone is, when you have children (or if you already have children) what will YOU do as a parent to protect your child from being safe on the internet?
